Gas/Eats/Liquor/Ammo Ahead

by Stephen Bunch

Gas/Eats/Liquor/Ammo Ahead

Whether flyover or drive-thru
we've got to get it fast.
The signs of the times
and the speed limit
won't let us wait.

The battery factory rises
on the edge of town.
The housing boom dwarfs
the one spurred
by the ammunition plant
several wars ago.

The highway widens
as the options narrow.
Telephones and computers
have begun
speaking in tongues.

It's said a QR code
will get us where we're going.
O scan and see!
