Good Friday

Good Friday

Morning walk, sprinkle of rain on my face
the famous swimmer adjusts her cap,
steps into the water.
A dozen toddlers and bigger small kids
pour from the Air B&B next door
to cartwheel on the sand.

Back at my desk, I think
of Adam Zagajewski's great poem,
"Good Friday in the Tunnels of the Metro,"
which leads to "Van Gogh's Face"
on the following page. Then "Vincent"
( oh starry, starry night) peals
from my music app shuffle.

O Swimmers, O Cartwheels, O Synchronic Song
I might believe in good, after all.
