Constellations

Constellations

The birds on the trees / in the streets
          have found an agenda—

                              they want the stars brought down
                    and the leaves set on fire—

maybe, just maybe, they say, if this lost
          world couldn't be set right, its burning

                    would be bliss-
ful—for isn't it in fire that it—

                              everything—regenerates?
