The End of Normal: a mirror cinquain

by Deborah P. Kolodji

The End of Normal: a mirror cinquain

The pulse
of family
measured around the pool.
We savor last days of summer,
rhubarb

pie crumbs.
Splashes of sharp words divide us—
new frontiers of half/step
siblings beckon
beyond.
