Two Chocolate Truffles
(Spotlight Runner-Up!)
Tonight we bombed the US Capitol building. We attacked the US government to retaliate against imperialist aggression that has sent the marines, the CIA and the army to invade sovereign nations, to trample and lay waste to the lives and rights of the peoples of Grenada, Lebanon, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, to carry out imperialism's need to dominate, oppress, and exploit.

To the outside world my father appeared the image of perfect geniality: always the life of the party, always the first one to strike a conversation, always the first one to laugh at a joke. But nothing could be further from the truth. To the inhabitants of our home, my father was like a dormant volcano. He exuded an aura of stillness and phlegm like a regular mountain but could erupt at any moment.
