The Science of Infatuation

I listen to that song on repeat,
pick out the pieces of you,
put them under a microscope.

Something of you still breathes
through everything I do, say, think,
observe.

I wrap my fingers around those
elements, press them onto a table
full of blocks of chemistry.

I have no idea how to fuse them
without fallout.
