Nocturne

Go to sleep. However long the wait,
I'll not be leaving now.
I'll be here when you wake.

The evening's gone. It's late.
Lay your tired head down
and sleep. However long, the wait

is only time to pass away.
My Pocket Venus, here's my vow—
I'll be here when you wake.

The world outside our gate
might fall to ruin, all about,
but you can sleep. However long the wait,

whatever fears the night
reveals, whatever doubts,
I'll be here when you wake.

Nothing weakens, nothing shakes
the promise I make now.
So, sleep. However long the wait,
I'll be here when you wake.
