More on The Peacemaker

Have you ever noticed that on an airplanes, they serve food or drink just before they hit turbulence? Do the pilots sit there and calculate how long it'll take the waitresses to serve food and when they hit the bumpy air? Are they afraid that if we actually tasted their food, we'll know for sure how bad it is?
Speaking of things out of place, THE PEACEMAKER came out so I had to go check it out. It's about this Russian nuclear warhead being highjacked, and two main characters trying to track it down. Yes, Nicole is a cutie in different sort'a way and it's amazing how well she can run with tight short skirt with heels but not all that well with pants and low heels. Clooney is a Lt Col of US Army, and well, he makes any black ops like a piece of cake.
No nakkid boobs. 8 doz bullets. 6 doz dead bodies + lots more. 31 on the vomit meter. No moon shots. What we got here are: choo- choo-fu, nigh coach from hell-fu, not so stealthy stealth maneuvers- fu, train ride from hell-fu, ultimate big boom-fu, shiny shoes-fu, natural look-fu, ultimate photo-fu, liaison from hell-fu, slide show during sour-fu, not so secure secure line-fu, and of course persuasion skills up the wazoo-fu. Video Hall of Fame nominations to Armin Mueller-Stahl for saying stuff like "I'm going to hang up now" and to George Clooney for saying stuff like "I was talking to the Joint Chief of Staffs", and of course to Nicole Kidman for saying stuff like "You just made that up." Two and a half stars. Shaggy Bob says wicked!
Spoilers -- Russian nuclear warhead gets highjacked. And the Army's International Operations dude and a scientist from NSC goes after the terrorists. It takes a while to set up the story but once it does, the story really takes off. And yes, like the song says, it's not the kill but the thrill of the chase. And the chase goes through Vienna to Russia via Bosnia, and to US. Unbelievable story? Yeah. But did it work? Yeah.
If you're waiting for the phone call from Rebecca Romijn, maybe you can take the cell phone with you. But if you know for certain that she's going to call, maybe you might want to stay in.
Alien Alert! What's wrong with sending another American to Mir? So what if we send a very expensive mechanic up there? Don't we want to learn more about how to fix stuff in space? And right now, Mir is the only space station up there. Is it not cost effective? How much does US arms cause in human tolls to foreign nations? How much does foreign aid actually cost? How much harm do US tobacco products cause? How much does the soft money and hard money campaign contributions deal cost? I don't think we're really talking about the cost any more.
