auto-immune

mumbles seep through windowpanes
traps injure and fail
echoes reset in isolation
lost ability weighs on lack mind

gauze wants to bandage
then goes stuffy damp
a cilice of fatigue
purples

first
this is all
illness is everything
no better beckons ever

second
vigilance glitches
insufficient and itchy

third
solitude settles
past shifting

animals blown
so far off course
their intuition misfires—
their sensors taxed
to bankruptcy

wingbeats weaken
necks sag
feet come untucked
and doubts find drains
to circle
