A Little Bit of Magic
The greatest thing about trying to be a poet is
You get to read poetry almost daily,
Reminding you that magic does exist. Not the illusion of a hidden rabbit springing out of a hat,
Or the sleight of hand of a card trick that eludes your comprehension,
But the momentary levitation of one's spirit into the transcendent. The hardest thing about trying to be a poet is
You have to read poetry almost daily to stay current,
Reminding you how well others captured the magic.A simple combination of complex words
That when rubbed the right way, like the Genie's lamp,
Will grant you any wish you desire.
