(Gretha! What's Become of Our December Snow?)

by Grzegorz Wróblewski

Translated from the Polish by the author and Malcolm Sinclair

(Gretha! What's Become of Our December Snow?)

Life has moved under the street lamps.
The days are shorter and there are more
and more smashed windscreens. (Black
lace is in fashion again...)
In shop windows glistens the first angel dust.
(I have decided! You'll get a Polynesian
mask from me!) Santa Claus gives out
smiling balloons...
Today almost all deals are possible.
Only snow is missing.
